There are an infinite number of possible beneficial breathing exercises, some stimulatory and some are calming. Three Part Breathing is the later. Exhalations are made longer than inhalations, triggering the relaxation responses of the parasympathetic nervous system. A human simplicity.454 views

In March 2010, I compiled a list of the music I had been listening to while Waylon was rocking out to Flock of Seagulls and M.C. Hammer. It’s time to get with the times, Way. So here, in no particular order, are the tunes of 2011 that are worth checking out.1,017 views

Even in the yoga world, kirtan is often still dissed or derided. Or maybe just considered a little woo-woo. Maybe even cultish. (Gasp!)599 views

Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be considered illegal behavior according to this bill. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting "creativity".451 views

Recently Brian Culkin posted an article entitled, In Defense of Ayn Rand. While I don't offer any criticism of the fundamental point of the article, it was a good one, I do see a big inconsistency on one of his statement.416 views

Anyway, I bring this up because surprisingly, of all the things I do in life, striving to be a good band member is most applicable to living through the eight limbs of Ashtanga. Don’t believe me? Here are the eight limbs and how they translate to being a model band member.202 views

No matter how tightly I cling to unhealthy habits, my commitment to a daily practice eventually overwhelms anything that might disrupt it. It's very hard to do this practice if I eat too much, if I stay up too late, if my mind is turbulent.7,504 views

I do wonder if anyone is any happier now that we buy more? Do the 105 extra minutes we get on the limited edition DVD really add anything to the film? Have we forgotten how to do anything without getting out our wallets?838 views

Revolutions have always been about overthrowing the oppressor, but always gave birth to a new system of power... until some rebel against the rulers. So the issue is not the systems but the basis of human behavior: separation.177 views

Whether consumption is conspicuous or not, few are open about how much they really have. Why? Because we’re programmed not to. If every person on the planet shared how much they have, then humanity’s biggest affliction would surface. Inequality.90 views

A few of us are born with a specific passion and this becomes our life’s calling, but generally speaking, I believe passion is a state of mind. It doesn’t find us, we find it. It’s like any relationship. Cultivating passion can take work and dedication. It starts off as an interest and as we build upon that interest, slowly over time, it sometimes blossoms into passion. But most of our lives are so fast paced, we hope passion will travel at the same speed to our doorstep. We forget that passion takes time to develop. It takes time to learn how to tap into.315 views

Thousands of people smuggle their vices into the concert gates even though cars and individuals are searched. If one does not bring anything, then no worries, there will be plenty available for the taking. It’s completely normal to find festival-goers walking around a venue selling, buying and asking if they've seen 'Molly.'563 views

...What if we were to honor the Christ-child, who came into the putrid, ugly messiness of this world (he was born in a cattle stall) in order to redeem it, by stepping up and doing what we can to prevent any of God’s precious little ones from being used, abused, victimized, and discarded — and rescue those who are? What if we were Santa in a brothel for God in the brothels?372 views

Infinity is used in many areas; it is a term used in mathematics and physics describing no end, maybe not even a beginning. It’s been used to depict the endless cycle of death and rebirth and is a tool one uses when trying to understand something greater than ourselves. It is nothing yet everything at the same time, a mystery not known to man.68 views

it is irresponsible to live in a false and isolated microcosm. The fashion industry, celebrities, and the media are looked up to and are used as a guide for many on how to live life, a guide that is being used more and more and we further disconnect ourselves from our own realities and instead rely on what is external.6,813 views

But the truth, dear readers: I have it damn good. Really....what's so awful about your 4-year-old needing you to put her socks on at 2:30 in the morning? Is it really that painful to be summoned to your little boy's crib at 6:15, his arms outstretched, his fair hair matted on one side, his sweet voice chanting "Mama, out. Mama, I hungee. Mama, snuggle"?473 views
