If the creatures of the earth are to be regarded as having inherent worth, we need an environmental ethic to inspire us to relate to and treat them accordingly. An enlightened society would exhibit reverence not just for each other as fellow human beings, but also for this truly awesome world of which we are only a part. This flies in the face of the industrial corporate paradigm that presently rules society with its materialistic ethos, which sees non-human nature solely in terms of profit.647 views

"I just think that our education system needs to take a good, hard look at itself in the mirror and realize that if, in my future life, I am ever asked to find the vertex form of a quadratic function, I will do what any half-sane individual would in such a situation, and punch whoever asked me for it in the face."572 views

She wakes after falling asleep from pure creative exhaustion, only to find herself numb again. No color. No words. Not one creative idea in sight. Overwhelmed from all the newly attempted works around her, she solemnly wipes the sleep from her eyes. Rubs her nose roughly. Checks the time.203 views

As a Pilates instructor and Integrative Nutrition student, I am often asked how I personally manage to control my eating during the holidays. Quite frankly, I don’t. Don’t get me wrong, it has taken me years to let go of the obsessive calorie counting and junk food phobia to actually enjoy the holidays. However, as much as I try to avoid refined sugars in my daily life, I have learned to let my guard down a bit during the holidays.144 views
