elephantjournal.com is now Number 2 in Google searches for “elephant.”

elephantjournal.com is feeling lucky.

Only fellow tech nerds will understand what a big deal this little moment is. The noble beast itself, or rather its writeup in Wikipedia, is still number one, and frankly I don’t want to top the creature that we’re dedicated to, or named after. Respek, you know?

But making Number Two in a google search for “elephant” is a big effing deal. It means folks are clicking on our stories, we’re getting traction in the world wide webosphere, and that we’re topping the thousands of other businesses named “elephant something or other.”

With thanks to my Dad, David Lewis, a fellow journsalista and editor (only much better, and more experienced) for the heads up.
