Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche: Spoken Word Video.


A few years back, I helped get the ball rolling (through elephant magazine, and some big email blasts) on what soon became a viral Buddhist spoken word poetry video (yah, not too many of those).

I bother to take some small credit on pushing that video, titled What About Me, because, well, the man behind the video (Gesar Mukpo) is a lifelong friend of mine and talented artist, and the man starring in the video was Sakyong Mipham, my Buddhist teacher—and the video was an exciting success, raking in hundreds of thousands of views. And it was poetry that spread the good word about a fundamental Buddhist attitude, and notion, that when we don’t always think about our own happiness…we might just be happier.
