Fossil Fuels Are Not the Biggest Polluter.

cows

It doesn’t matter whether you drive a Prius or ride a bicycle everywhere you go.

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a net zero energy home or use rain barrels to conserve water. It doesn’t matter if you stop taking trips in airplanes. It doesn’t matter what your favorite environmental organization tells you to do.

Raising animals for food produces 51% of all greenhouse gases, destroys rainforests, pollutes water, and more. Livestock produce more greenhouse gases than all the vehicles in the world combined! That’s cars, trains, buses, planes, etc. 91% of the rainforests in the Amazon have been destroyed, not from oil and gas drilling, but from clear cutting to raise livestock.

With around a billion people in the world going hungry, while almost 50% of all the grain grown in the world is being fed to animals, it’s time to rethink the viability of eating meat.
