Having recently recovered from an ongoing battle with the effects of T.M.I; too much information and the challenges that this can bring, I wanted to share this spoken word poem that explores these themes through a spiritual dialogue. The poem will follow later in the article.
A lot of the information available to us today is interconnected, woven together, making it difficult to be selective about what we absorb and expose ourselves to, especially if we have a desire to wake up and get woke.
To learn about the politics within our own countries, we must inevitably learn about global corporations and corruption.
To learn about global warming, it is impossible not to discover the effects of mass animal farming on the planet and the subsequent horror stories that unfold here, with GMOs and toxic fretilizers finding their way into the fold.
Today, we are now all trying to process way more information than one human life would ever have had to in the past, with little to no help, support or even acknowledgement of this rapid shift in evolution, let alone any knowledge of what the effects that these upward leaps in consciousness may have on us and on the future generations. ~ Gee Francois
I, however am glad to have begun this ongoing quest for knowledge; to raise my awareness of who I am through my increasing awareness of who we collectively are, as a species.
This awareness, in turn, increases my awareness of the effects that this heighten state of of being has on me, therefore, highlighting the importance of self preservation, self love and deep grounding within the Spiritual.
I hope you enjoy my poem:
Don’t wake too quick
Too much information equals ego inflation,
Memories, thoughts, past lives latent,
Twitchy trigger finger,
Never resting lingers,
Egos trigger egos because egos are the trigger bringers.
Thoughts, concepts beyond current scope,
Caving in, darkness grows; loss of hope,
TMI; too much rope.
Take time, go slow,
Souls connect but minds take time to know.
Plant the seeds, reap what you sow.
A mind is absorbent;
Choose what you cultivate and how it grows.
Take time be patient,
A soul is present while the mind remains vacant,
Disconnected; outside of the now,
Yet never residing in the space between brow,
Where clarity meets spirituality,
Oneness replaces duality.
Chase that moment or blink it away,
Eyes wide shut and shut they remain,
As long as ego stands in the way,
Because an ego in the way is an ego untamed.
If we allow ourselves to step aside,
To keep at bay feelings of inadequacy that may arise,
When we choose to view ourselves through others eyes,
The lenses of society,
That limit creativity,
Where most creation is egocentrism; lacking any divinity,
Then and only then can we channel cosmic energy,
Disconnect to reconnect to universal synergies,
Heal ourselves and others; cease to be the enemy,
From foe to friend, struggles end,
Minds bend and traumas mend.
