You are not a Goddess

You are not a Goddess

because you claim to be one,

you have always been a Goddess – the inherent breath of the divine.

You, are also not a goddess because of the robes you wear

that trip you over (your ego) when you try walking with human feet sometimes messily.

Face paint,

glitters

and unicorn horns

do not make you a goddess.

You

are born Goddess

one of flesh

and bones.

You also are not a witch because of how much sage you burn

but how well have you burned the illusion of the separate self

at the alter of the goddess.

You are not a goddess because you look good with your chunky crystals and clunky garments

but because you have released the hooks of form into the subtle realms of the formless.

My goddess, your incessant need to assert your goddesshood is but an indication that you are yet to know you are divine.

It is not a reclamation of what can never be lost nor need assertion

but another disguised identification with your disheartened selfhood.

“Goddessing” has nothing to do with alters and deity faces

it certainly has nothing to do with dancing naked in temple spaces

but with the humble recognition of your wholeness beyond your identity

so the body becomes a device for communicating unity

celebrated in rawness

be it a dance

a prayer

or better an act of kindness.

“Goddessing” isn’t a performance my Goddess,

it is wisdom and selflessness made service.

When you truly remember your divinity you remember it in all.

Divinity isn’t a selective affair but perfect equality.

You who really know you are one with God/dess need but be it, and your beingness is whole.

Yours,

Hoda Fadel
