What is Life?

An old friend asked me, “What is Life?” I laughed. It was a question I’ve been pondering for at least 60 years.

What I’ve learned about “Life”, I’ve learned in daily meditation. It didn’t come as facts or evidence I could present in a courtroom. It came as sentences and short paragraphs. It came as pictures or as emotions. It took a lifetime for me to assemble the bits and pieces into something meaningful.

This is what I have come to understand about “Life.”

The technical wizardry that allows us to energize and operate a biological lifeform is beyond our “Modern” scientist’s understanding. It is a purely Spiritual relationship, but it is actually a simple one.

Life is pain… and glory.

Life is boredom… and extasy.

Life is love… and hate.

Life is war… and peace.

Life is an opportunity to explore the limitless possibilities that exist in this “Reality.” But don’t take them too seriously. Take yourself seriously.

Every one of those possibilities, even Reality itself, suffers a birth and a death… a beginning and an end. They are all temporary… fleeting. They rise out of nothing… and return to it.

Our Souls, our Observers, existed before the current Reality began and will remain when it has run its course. What we see as the Universe and everything in it is our classroom and our playground… nothing more, nothing less. Accept everything that happens, good or bad, as a learning experience… a lesson.

We are the only living things, the only “Life.” We are infinite… and we have an endless amount of things to learn.
