Inside The Mind of Mental Illness

POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING!:

_

I should have been dead right now. I was killing myself with my habits and my thoughts. But I’m here, and I’m fighting more demons than I ever allowed myself consciously to accept. I am fighting between the old me and the person I am becoming, every single day. It ain’t easy. It’s emotionally draining, mentally exhausting, and often has me questioning if I’m doing the right things. I wouldn’t wish this level of uncomfortability or uncertainty on anyone; to fight your own mind on a daily basis. Mental illness isn’t pretty or an accessory item to put on display like it’s the “new trend.” Hundreds of people kill themselves over this every fucking day! So why can’t we all help each other get better, grow, love ourselves?!!?

They say that it’s not those who intentionally hurt others that will be demonized by God, but those who stand by and do nothing. We can watch the World burn, or we can help put out the fire. And for me, that first flame to douse is within myself. I can only do so much until I’m adding more fuel to my own fire.

It’s truly rare when you have people you can turn to at any given moment, say anything to, and know they’ll still love and support you unconditionally. I choose to love EVERYONE, and I fucking mean everyone, even those who have hurt me… You never know what someone may be going thru, and we need to grow together as a society and as human beings on this indefinite planet. Letting go of remorse, resentment, pain. It’s choosing to stop drinking the poison and hurting only yourself in the end. Forgive, but don’t forget what it teaches you. Love, but not to the point where you’re not showing yourself love, and help as much as you can and whenever you can.

The World needs more Light in all this Darkness. Don’t be afraid to be the Candle. ?
