It was late. All of the kids were sleeping. I put on Netflix while I was waiting for my husband to come “chill” with me. As he finished up on the computer I watched a short documentary on mindfulness meditation. As soon as it ended, my husband came over in perfect timing to do what he does best. This time would be extra special however, because I was inspired to attempt a practice of mindfulness meditation. As the intensity grew between us I focused on my breathing.

Inhale…exhale…

I don’t remember what happened after that besides falling asleep blissfully.

It was then that I received contact by

O S H U N

Or at least her name appeared to me.

Then I dreamt of a very pregnant woman  going into labor during a snowstorm.

She was panicking because she had to get to the hospital quickly through the snow.

It doesn’t snow where I live but Oshun was showing me where her power lies.

And of course when I woke up I googled the name from my dream. This is what I found on Britannica.com

“Oshun is commonly called the river orisha, or goddess, in the Yoruba religion and is typically associated with water, purity, fertility, love and sensuality. Those who want children and who may suffer from infertility usually call on Oshun for assistance, and she is associated with the concepts of femininity and the power of women.”

Fast forward a month later and I am in fact pregnant.

Let me clarify that by no means was I trying to get pregnant, but after messaging a “Bruja” on Instagram, she said that regardless of my intentions I was chosen specifically by Oshun.

Wow

I’m honored but also slightly terrified by this power.

I didn’t know goddesses could be so real.

I wonder how long had she been with me? Or  if I somehow invoked her power through the type of spiritual sex I had with my husband. Was I able to access her realm through my mind and receive her blessing?

All I know is there is so much I don’t know.

All I can do is be thankful for my gift.
