Beware of Self-proclaimed Enlightenment

We’re all just walking each other home ~ Ram Dass

Beware of anyone trying to sell you the idea that they’re more enlightened than you & therefore they can help heal you. There are a lot of wolves in sheep’s clothing along the path of self-discovery. I’ve mistakenly put some people on pedestals over the years only to realize after the fact that they too are shockingly human.. flawed & imperfect… that in itself is not a problem… I believe there are a lot of perfectly imperfect humans out there who have the capacity to help others on their journey. But, if someone is trying to sell you the idea that they’re floating on a cloud and for a fee they’ll invite you up… I say, go find the nearest person with their feet on the ground. We’re all walking this earth together… I am no better than you. You are no better than me. In fact, we are all an extension of one another. Not separate. Connected. One.

Be intentional about who you surround yourself with… seek the REAL in people.. not the real IMPRESSIVE… impressive is often a sheep’s mask. Find the people who celebrate your joy, happiness and successes as if they were their own. People who listen as much as they talk. People who seek to understand more than they seek to explain. The people who hold space for your self-discovery without trying to manipulate it by telling you what it SHOULD look like or how it SHOULD feel. Nobody has the answers that you’re seeking… except for YOU. YOU are your greatest hero, healer and guide… find the people who remind you of that fact. Those are the real gurus… those who stand beside you as your friend, reminding you consistently that you’re innately wise, worthy and powerful. We’re all just walking each other home.
