NO RAINBOWS WITHOUT RAIN ‘’HOW TO BE HAPPY IN TOUGH TIMES’’

Do you ever experience times in your life, where you feel happy?

You’re riding the happiness wave.

Even smiling at little things that you didn’t notice before.

You even have the motivation to get things done.

Everything feels different, a little brighter, a little lighter.

‘’Is this the feeling everyone talks about, being happy’’?

Yes, life feels like it’s getting back on track.

You want this moment to last, but deep down you know that nothing lasts forever.

Then out of nowhere, this little tap on the shoulder confronts you.

Your worst nightmare.

The happiness bubble has burst, reality has kicked in hard.

Someone or something has disrupted your happy state of mind.

Then slowly a dark cloud starts to cover the rainbow.

Well, the truth is if you think we are meant to be happy all the time,  we’re not.

After all, how would we appreciate the true meaning of happiness?

If we were happy all the time.

Part of life’s journey is we experience some highs and some lows.

Sometimes people and unpleasant situations will interrupt and even disrupt our lives.

Life is going to test you, with happy awesome moments, and some unhappy ones.

It may feel like nothing will ever change.

But it will.

So, the big question we could ask ourselves.

What can I do when life is tough when I’m facing a dark storm and no rainbow in sight.

Well if you are willing to do something different, there is a way.

It may take some practice to learn to change your state of mind and attitude.

I mean as much as we would all like to be happy and positive.

To live in a perfect world with rainbows and cute fluffy unicorns.

Is this realistic, no, of course not.

But what if there was a way we could still experience bursts of happiness when facing tough times?

Let me share with you six key things you can do today to create more happiness while facing tough times.

1-CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE

Change your attitude, Change your life.

How we feel, react, and our own actions matter. It effects everything including how we feel and see the world.

We can choose to still be happy in dark times.

Start by implementing one thing every day that you love and enjoy.

No matter how busy you are, if your happiness is a priority you will make time.

2-REMOVE NEGATIVE WORDS, REPLACE WITH POSITIVE ONES

Start with saying.

  • I can
  • I will
  • I know
  • I am

There are things in life we can’t change, like our family, situations, experiences, unfortunate events.

But you can change your mindset and attitude towards it.

Remember there will always be a silver lining in difficult situations.

Chose to focus your energy more on the good.

3-SHARE YOUR STORY/CONNECT WITH PEOPLE

 Humans need other humans; we do not have to be lonely and isolated especially in dark times.

Open up and talk with your friends and family about what is going on, join a support group.  You don’t need to face anything alone, people will help, all you need to do is ask.

4-DEVELOP GRATITUDE FOR LIFE

 Learn to appreciate the little things as well as the big things, it all starts with you and your thoughts and feelings towards life.

You can choose to focus on all the things you don’t have, or you can choose to focus on all the things you do have.

Be grateful for your life, the chance to be here on earth and make the best of what you have.

5-DECIDE TO BE HAPPY

 In life there will be good times and bad, so we can’t be sad all the time. Choose your state, decide, even though life may not be perfect right now, choose to be happy anyway, for no other reason but because you decide to be.

Say to yourself, I am choosing to be happy.

Make the choice to experience happiness even in tough times. This could make a massive difference to how you cope.

6-FOCUS YOUR ENERGY ON POSITIVITY

 Time is precious, life is precious, so what are you waiting for?

Focus your time and energy on what you can change and not what you can’t.

Sometimes the game of life is hard, so gain awareness around your own positive energy, be mindful not to absorb other people’s.

Remember this, you can still experience happy moments in dark times.

Believe you can and you will.

Stop thinking that you can’t, start thinking you can.
