Are the rich and lucky enlighted? A take on lack of empathy

“Transexuals and gays are born in the wrong bodies”, “he is suffering and poor because he probably was evil in past lives”, “disabled people reincarnate or suffer accidents because of bad karma”.

Have you ever thought and/or said these kinds of phrases?

I bet you did, but I hope you didn’t and we’ll have to talk about this type of belief that tends to turn “lighter” our existence in a world marked by violence and injustice.

It isn’t right to justify our hardships being easier in such a way we condemn somebody else as a sinner and deserving of suffering.

In the wheel of life and karma, most of us will experience all types of existence, which includes poverty, sickness, violence, social stigmas and every type of hardships.

To look someone else in pain and don’t feel it inside ourselves as compassion is strictly a lack of empathy and IT IS, in fact, what means absence of spiritual development and enlightenment.

It’s this lack of empathy that allows our world to be closer to hell than from heaven, because when we justify somebody else’s pain as deserving, we don’t act trying to decrease and facilitate “others” pain, pushing our collective to this stage of development.
