Only Us

Only Us

The lines

That we draw.

The mines

We lay.

The lies.

The rage.

The hate.

The bloodied

Razor’s edge.

All That we might

Serve

The fevered high

Of some flickering tale.

Stories told

By stories.

Shadows cast

By shadows.

Children.

Gasoline.

Matches.

Burn, baby, burn.

And it’s hard.

It is so so hard

But

There ain’t no

Us and them

No lesser souls

No greater mortals

No walls

No borders

No great divides

One us

One heart

One soul

One shining

Morning

one quiet

Night.

One battered

Boundless

Hopeful heart

One soul rising

Again and again and

Again

Remembering

Remembering who we really are.
