About Me {A Poem}

I can’t deny my true being.

I can’t forestall my calling.

I can’t hide my inner nature.

I don’t play well in the world of fake.

I don’t hide behind facades.

I don’t cover up who I am.

I make some uncomfortable.

I make others curious.

I make a few willing to grow.

I want truth to be first.

I want honor to return.

I want love to be a priority.

I long for an honest woman.

I long for a real connection.

I long for what I’ve not had.

I crave this notional person.

I crave this dream I’ve created.

I crave this fiction, this story.

I keep learning, about myself & others.

I keep growing, changing, evolving.

I keep striving for better.

I know there is joy in the future.

I know we all have a purpose.

I know I still have much to do.
