Does silence (in the presence of others) make you feel uncomfortable? Let me ask you, why?
Because we’re used to hearing the term “awkward silence”?
Why does silence have to be awkward? Or, even if it is awkward or uncomfortable, why does that have to be a bad thing?
I quite enjoy awkward silences; or rather, I enjoy the fact that it makes other people feel uncomfortable. Because I want to shatter that perception of silence being a bad thing.
Why does it make you feel uncomfortable? Because society tells you so? Because society tells you that talking is good? Because society tells you that being busy and constantly doing things is good?
Well here’s a game changer;
– there is beauty in the stillness
– there is is beauty in the silence
– there is peace in the silence
– there is energy in the silence
Sometimes you don’t have to talk to the people you’re with, just the simple fact of being in their presence and feeling their energy is enough.
Sometimes I think people feel the need to talk to disrupt the silence. But don’t you know there is something special in the silence?
Sometimes I see talking as a ‘fix’, and sometimes things don’t need to be ‘fixed’, they just need to be felt.
