Abstract
Online communication platform are new mediums of socialization in modern age of technology and cyber revolution. This has brought many sociological psychological challenges for human race. One of them is mental health and arising consequences. This paper is aimed at identifying any correlation with between usage of online communication and its impacts on mental health. Social media outlets are great source of connectivity and exchange of information but they are also source of depression, stress and anxiety in human beings which can compromise the overall wellbeing of individuals. This study is observational investigation which has studied the stress and anxiety in 25 individuals arising with the usage of online communication networks. The symptoms observed in individuals are screen addition, antisocial behavior and obsession with their online image. This transforms into their normal lives as well which can be harmful for mental health and overall health of society.

Introduction: a brief overview
Social media and online communication has without a doubt revolutionized the world. The rapid communication has reduced the distances and opened the doors of economic, social and technological advancement doors for human race. But this has also changed the process of socialization for human beings. Online connectivity is new norm now and it has replaced the old school socialization at least for the youth. For sociologists and psychologists there is a new challenge in this which is raising mental health challenges and their association with use of online communication networks and smart phone applications.  This paper is aimed at studying and analyzing the effects of online communication on mental health of individuals involved in using these platforms. For this observation only investigation technique of psychology will be used.  In order to address this question the research questions are developed for simplification which include: What is the importance of online communication in the lives of the youth and secondly what is the link between time spent on online communication and depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. The researcher has adopted observation through learning and analyzing the behaviors of the individuals around him involved in using platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and what’s App without letting them know that they have been under observation. By employing this method, it is assumed that acquired information will be free from any biases and will come in its raw form which is important for meaningful conclusion. These inventions are for the benefit of human beings but why they have become an issue and what kind of negative impacts they can leave on an individual are questions which needs answers. Out of these questions, the psychological part will be discussed. The developmental mechanism of these online platforms which is itself an addictive one in nature and has ability to leave lasting impression on human minds, modification for commercial purposes and last but not the least the very own human nature which can be nasty and self destructive at times. In simple terms it is always the man behind the gun rather than gun itself is responsible for any mess. A gun can be used for hunting and feeding human beings and same gun can be used for killing an individual. Just like that the use of online communication platforms has certainly impacted the human minds and their psychological state through building emotions like anger, happiness, lust, greed, anxiety and stress all at the same time in a complicated manner. This study is aimed at exploring these issues through observational investigation in order to provide required knowledge and information for further study of psychological and cognitive response towards internet communication and how its side effects can be mitigated. Not only that, this study can provide some insight for future improvements and precautionary measure for safer usage of this modern technological invention along with further research opportunities in the field of psychology and sociology of cyber world.

In the next few lines focus of the discussion will be around problem statement and components of the research questions which will answer the questions that why is this research relevant in the field of psychology and how it will help the mankind in general.

Statement of the problem: an analysis of the components of the research question
In order to study the impacts of online communication of mental health issues two questions have been raised. What is the importance of online education in the lives of the youth? This enables us to further study how mental and psychological urges determine the course of action. Desire to connect with other human beings, response towards fulfillment of urges is part of human nature and online space offers a solution. How social learning takes place and builds the desire to connect with fellows through online communication networks. Moreover it also explains the socio-psychological factor which is somehow present in human beings of all ages; this force is responsible for decision making which enables humans to achieve social acceptability and consequently satisfactory state of mind (self-esteem). In pursuit of this satisfaction, human brains become addict of social media world and consequently take actions more and more satisfaction. This unending desire further builds stress and depression which can transform into obsession. This obsession often becomes a reason for anti-social behavior. A state of mind which is far from general wellbeing and normal. Furthermore, second question, which is; what is the link between time spent in online communication and its link with depression, anxiety and other mental health issues? Finding the answer of this question will further explain the process of incremental development of pressure and stress arising out of different emotions like greed, lust, de-motivation or in some cases anger, frustration and lack of self actualization. As human nature is fragile and unpredictable, the urge of getting more and more remains there, some might hide this urge and some not but it is always there. In this case, with more and more time on these social networking or online communication websites human beings express their desires and express feelings through various expressions like ,materialist achievements, showing off social status and economic gains artificially or otherwise. The reader or receiver of this information can take these inputs as negative by expressing anger, de-motivation or hopelessness or positive response by being motivated and eager to do well. In both cases human brain release different chemicals which are responsible for controlling certain behavioral patterns like aggression and excitement. Consequently, the urges become stronger and stronger and brains demand for more keeps on building and as a result stress and anxiety builds up in human minds along with many psychological complications like development of antisocial behavior, obsessive compulsive disorder, dual personality disorder, screen addiction and many more. The observatory investigation will certainly provide data for solution of these problems along with further research opportunities for psychological explanations of complex modern problems arising out of digital age. A lot needs to be done in the field of psychology, especially in the fields related to cyber space and artificial intelligence. In the era of quantum computing and machine revolution psychological assessments and research can bring solutions for complex and advanced problems. Not only cyber space but this will also transform the clinical usage of these technologies as well. So scope of psychology will be increased with this observational inquiry concerning digital communication and related mental health problems. In the next phase of the paper important concepts within the research questions and their operational definitions of the variables will be under discussion to explain how they address this problem in the most effective manner.

Discussion of the important concepts contained within the research question;  and an operational definition of the variables to be reviewed.
Social media time use

The respondents would provide answers to one item on how many hours they spend on online communication sites (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) on a typical day. This will be evaluated by asking participants, “How much time do you spend on a typical day on online communication sites, like Facebook?” ‘The categories of response will range from 1 (none) to 9 (more than 8 hours). This is to develop a scale variable that allows genuine statistical analysis. Observations will be noted down and then analysis will be done with standard scales for proper meaningful result generation.

Depression

Youth depression would be evaluated using the 20-item, self-reported Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale for Children on all eight waves. (CES-DC; Weissman, Orvaschel, &Padian, 1980). Although depression is state which is very hard to quantify and measure but for the sake of research a standard approach is required. The response and actions observed while investigating subjects will be put into the scale and then generated results can provide interpretations for further analysis.

Anxiety symptoms.

Youth anxiety will be assessed using the six-item generalized anxiety disorder subscale from the Spence Child Anxiety Inventory (Spence, 1998). This will provide a general idea of individuals state of mind and degree of his/her anxious behavior in at a particular stage.

Correlation

The popular correlation analysis will be used to demonstrate the connection between time spent on online communication and mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. After this section of the paper, A literature review can provide meaningful insight about online communication and its related health consequences as previous research can lead the way for further improvement and development.
