Sometimes what we want…
isn’t what life is asking for.
Read that again.
Because this is where so many of us get stuck—
in the ache between desire and destiny,
between the comfort we crave and the growth we need.
Here’s what that gap can sound like:
Sometimes we want to disappear,
but life is actually asking for us to be fully seen in our most unguarded truth.
Sometimes we want to be alone,
but life is actually asking for us to risk the intensity of deeper connection.
Sometimes we want to be chosen,
but life is actually asking for us to choose ourselves—fully, and without apology.
Sometimes we want to be right,
but life is actually asking for us to be real, even if it means being made wrong.
Sometimes we want to numb the pain,
but life is actually asking for us to feel it—so we can finally heal it.
Sometimes we want to win their love,
but life is actually asking for us to stop performing and start belonging to the love we already have inside.
Sometimes we want to run from the mess,
but life is actually asking for us to stay, to listen, and to clean it up.
Sometimes we want answers,
but life is actually asking for us to live the questions more deeply.
Sometimes we want to protect our hearts,
but life is actually asking for us to break open and let the light flood in.
Sometimes we want it to be easy,
but life is actually asking for us to become who we were born to be…
By walking through the fire!
Not warming ourselves by it.
Learning to live well is about learning to tell the difference between what feels good and what is good.
