Bill Nye: “We are here for the same reason our ancestors gathered in 1776. We want our government to run without a king!”
“One protest doesn’t change the world. Continued collective action does. Tomorrow is important, but so is the next one, and the next one, and the next one. It’s an ultra marathon, we’re at best a couple miles in.”
What will come of today’s protest?
“It builds community and shows people they aren’t alone in a time when everyone is very isolated and paranoid about each other.”
“Nothing tangible, but I will walk away from it not feeling alone. Reading the news and doomscrolling Reddit makes it feel hopeless. But I feel recharged after the protests to see other people like me in person, and has helped me connect more with folks doing stuff on the ground every day.” ~ a comment

Mehdi Hasan at the No Kings Protests in DC: “I am not willing to sit back and watch our glorious American multiracial and multicultural democratic experiment destroyed by the guy from Home Alone 2.”
