Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis presents:

This week on our long-running “Walk the Talk Show” podcast and video series, with awards and millions of views over the years…

Waylon speaks with the Elephant community about being a new father. Often, understandably, parenthood means we turn inwardly, toward domestic homey concerns…to the detriment of our activism, our caring about our planet’s future. Buried in a pile of plastic and meat and dairy, driving hither and fro, we hurt the very future that our children need to survive.

On a planet beset by billionaires and Big Oil and all…we must not give up our own power. There are many of us. So we must care. Our littlest mindful actions can, practiced every day, inspired others and and be done out of self-care, and love…not guilt.

“We need a habitable planet for Willa, and all our children, to live on. I know we know this, but we don’t really act like it. ” ~ Waylon H. Lewis

Watch the video:

“Martin Luther King Jr. talked about active love. Love isn’t enough. Caring isn’t enough if we’re protecting ourselves by hiding from the news. We need to pay attention to the news, but maybe just good journalism.

…we have the power to selectively, mindfully pay attention, not overwhelm ourselves, devote ourselves to family and community and our home sweet home and our work, and caring for ourselves. Taking a bath, reading a good book, and at the same time, pay attention to good journalism and be active in our daily life.”

Can’t watch the video? Why not listen?

“I have a new baby girl, Willa Goodall Lewis and we are so happy, but caring about a baby is not enough. We have to care about the world that the baby is going to get to live in.

So let’s all care about that world and please be of benefit daily. Thank you so much and big love to all of you.”

“What I am requesting is participation. Elephant has 13 million fans on social media and millions of readers, but we are only able to bring folks together around caring, fact-based conversation—people who disagree but can do so agreeably or respectfully—if you participate and right now independent media is getting killed by Facebook, et cetera.

They smother and suppress links. So when you go to elephantjournal.com, when you go to elephantjournal.com/best and get our free newsletter, when you go to elephantjournal.com/post and write something and share it—you keep independent media live, but more importantly, you keep respectful conversation, community, and caring facts alive.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis
