…and on the cover of Buddhadharma.
Explanatory note: the story isn’t important. It never is. The storyline is what we come back to the present moment from; the story line is full of right and wrong and us vs. them. Dharma Centers, such as Karme Choling, are full of community and cozyness…but they’re also full of heartbreak and banal, daily frustrations and gossip. They give us true friends, and they give us heartbreak…and when we leave (or are shown the door) we remember them with the raw heart love that a mother feels for her child, or vice versa.
