When Nawang Khechog chooses to collaborate with someone, you know the result is going to be a beautiful, eminently listenable and approachable collection of music. This was demonstrated on his earlier cds, Winds of Devotion and Music as Medicine, both with R. Carlos Nakai, and it is equally true on The Dance of Innocents. Khechog’s work with Peter Kater combines the haunting, lyrical sound of Tibetan flute with the melodic work of Kater on piano. Some of these tracks will be familiar to anyone that’s seen Ten Questions for the Dalai Lama since they appeared on the soundtrack for that film. Elegant and moving, The Dance of Innocents is one that is likely to remain in anyone’s cd player for quite some time. From Sounds True.
