If I’m being truly specific, my first love was for my mother. She, who was there at my birth and all the milestones that came afterwards. Milestones such as, my first smile as I looked at my most consistent caretaker and cheerleader. The one who cheered when I cried, laughed, cut a pearly white, pulled myself up in the old wooden crib, made a funny face or spilled my juice. How could I not love back what was offered so unconditionally, merely for drawing breath? Unconditional love is a blessing of the highest magnitude!
