We are fortunate enough to have an abundance of aloe plants in our garden.
I do not like to waste things which otherwise could be put to good use. After some research and my general love for food and drink, I’ve decided to put my shoulder to the grind and created this bit of highly nutritious deliciousness.
You will need:
4 large aloe leaves—only use the gel inside!
1/2 cucumber—about 20 centimeters long.
1 generous handful of fresh mint leaves.
Half of one large, juicy, ripe pineapple.
Blob of honey (optional).
60 milliliters of purified water.
Method:
Once you have cleaned and peeled the aloe leaves, do the same for the cucumber, and give the mint a good wash. Peel and core the pineapple; cut into chunks. Add all of this into the blender (together with the honey, if you so wish).
Give it a good whizz, and what do you know, you have a refreshingly green aloe, cucumber, and mint smoothie.
The more fragrant the pineapple is, the sweeter it’ll be inside, hence, there won’t really be a need for honey.
Serve over some crushed ice, and scoop out the froth with a finger of pineapple.
Ahh, deliciously refreshing!
