I want to see her, but not with simple sight,
Not just with wandering eyes beneath the night.
You see, her smile can calm the darkest skies,
Like morning sun returning to my eyes.
I never meant to write these words this way,
But thoughts of her keep pulling me to stay.
Her hair dances softly within the wind,
Like nature itself is moving through her skin.
Her eyes—they sparkle brighter than the sea,
Holding mountains where my soul feels free.
Yes, she comes from my most cherished place,
But now that place is only her embrace.
Because the trails would simply be the ground,
Without her laugh to turn the world around.
I’d watch her walking where the tall trees sway,
And lose myself in every word she’d say.
I want to see her for all she can become,
For all the songs inside her still unsung.
And maybe someday she will turn and see
A deeper kind of love inside of me.
I do not want one moment passing by,
One fleeting glance beneath a fading sky.
I want to see her through the passing days,
Through changing seasons and a thousand ways.
I want to know the softness of her soul,
The quiet parts she doesn’t always show.
Because I do not seek her just to hold,
Or touch her hands against the winter cold.
I want to see her deep within my mind,
Where heart and spirit slowly intertwine.
And maybe in the beauty that she brings,
I’ll find a newer version of all things.
I want to see her—not for just a while,
But long enough to make this life worthwhile.
