Being an Ally for Black Lives sometimes means Moving Slow.
Christy Hughes is a native Texan, returning home in 2016 after a true rebirth in Phoenix, AZ. There she became sober-curious, dabbled in yoga, and met a man. All three of these things are staples in her life today. Together, her and her husband weekend in the country, working to develop a hobby farm. A self-proclaimed “haphazard gardener”, she loves getting back to her family’s farming roots. She enjoys heart-based selling by day and yoga, reiki and subtle energy studies by night. She has been volunteering for her weekly Meals on Wheels route for nearly two years and is inspired by this and other service work to write a weekly blog about courage and compassion.
