Stolen Souls
I am the voice for animals that are voiceless. My love for animals started as a young child.. I remember this was instilled in me by my mom. We always had animals growing up that often come from rescues. Our house was always full of rescued animals from rabbits to dogs, cats, and even a pig named Arnold. As I grew older and I was more aware of the sad situations that I often saw through social media I knew that I could not just sit back and watch, I needed to be a voice for all animals.,
My love for Elephants came when I became a foster mom to one through the David Sheldrick Foundation. I read each and every story before I picked one that pulled at my heart strings. It was a baby that was left to mourn by his dead mom who had been poached. It was then I started researching Elephants from all over the world and realized the plight of their exsistence depended on us getting the word out to everyone. At the rate elephants are being poached which is 1 every 15 min, that means in about 10 years we may not have any giants left roaming the lands of Africa which future generations will never have the privilege to see..
On my trip to Thailand couple years ago I saw many abused Elephants who were made to work for trekking, begging, riding, entertainment etc. The crushing stage as they call it, is not a sight or sound you want to hear. Most babies die during this as their souls and spirits are broken so they can one day be used for our entertainment.
My journey next year in Feb 2020 will be in Africa where I will meet my foster baby Barsilinga who started this all for me, and be the voice for all animals who don’t have a voice for their future!?
