Love Thyself.

“Bitches.”

Like many words used as insults or taunts that are well on their way toward being reclaimed (like, gay, fat…) it’s a tricky word, and one we’ve discussed before. I don’t use it in the singular. But many independent, kick-ass, know-themselves women, and men, use it in the plural.

We can own any word slung at us, with a sense of relaxation and humor:

Either way, the bottom line seems to be: examine yourself. Let others own their own aggression, and ignorance.

Love thyself. It’s hard work, but well worth it once we get there.
