Scott Hoffenberg and his next door neighbor, who live in my hometown of Boulder, Colorado, is growing a vegetable garden in the space between the sidewalk and the street on University Avenue (only a block from ‘Hotelephant’)—bringing new meaning to the notion of “local” food. Little problem: his other neighbor, whose house is on the market, has complained about the trellises and fencing in the parkway, and Boulder’s famously progressive government Hoffenberg has ordered Scott to remove his mini-farm…or face a $2,000 per day fine.

The man should be given an award, not a fine. But the government pays big farmers to not grow crops on there farms also. Go figure?

Scott Hoffenberg should have his own show on HGTV…
