Mindfulness is Attractive.

Our staff has authored a series of hard-hitting investigative journalistic “green crushes” here at elephant—on the likes of Treehugger founder Graham Hill, Entourage’s green-lovin’ loverboy Adrian “Greener” Grenier, sweet Summer Rayne Oakes, NASCAR race car drivin’ Leilani Munter; FEED Bag’s Lauren Bush, everywhere-all-at-once yoga teacher Tara Stiles, our friend the green journalist Olivia Zaleski, hobbitish Dominic Monaghan, hunky Rogan Gregory, yoga teacher and elefriend Malachi Melville, others.

But idolatry is as sweet buy any other color, and Hemalayaa Behl, who I met a few months back in Ojai, has got to be the Yogini Diva of the Age of Aquarius.

Photos from Hemalayaa’s web site, and that of fave yoga photographer Jasper Johal. Videos mostly via Acacia on Youtube. You can sign up for Hemalayaa’s e-newsletter (via our pals over at Namaste Interactive), free, here.

She’s talented, lovely in and out, and she uses her “Bollywood Booty” (her term—she’s equally passionate about celebrating spirituality and a tasteful sexuality) talents to magnetize the masses to fitness and mindfulness of body and mind. That’s our kind of hero, or heroine: someone who works and plays and sashays for the greater good.

Videos:

Indian dance and yoga instructor Hemalayaa Behl stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to show off some moves from her new workout video, “Hemalayaa: Bollywood Booty.” DVD is available for purchase at http://www.acaciacatalog.com !

What’s the best cardio workout? A hip scoop and a butt bounce of course! Hemalayaa’s sassy, sexy dance workout gives you a fun and effective way to lose weight, dance away stress, and tone your core, hips, and thighs. So start shimmying! From the DVD “Bollywood Dance Workout with Hemalayaa.

Elephant Journal is a independent, mission-driven communiuty. Dedicated to “bringing together those working (and playing) to create enlightened society, we’re about anything that helps us to live a good life that’s also good for others, and our planet.

Founded as a print magazine in 2002, we went national in 2005 and then (because mainstream magazine distribution is wildly inefficient from an eco-responsible point of view) transitioned online in 2009. >>>

Elephant’s been named to 30 top new media lists, and was voted #1 in the US on twitter’s Shorty Awards for #green content…twice. >>>
