Men United FTW!
Here at ele, we’ve always been loud proud outspoken fans of equal rights for all. So in this day and age of Prop 8 and civil unions it’s nice to see such a thoroughly un-self conscious enthusiastic display of love.
Via Connexxion and Towleroad:
Manchester United captain Gary Neville planted a kiss on teammate Paul Scholes after Scholes scored the winning (and only) goal against Manchester City just 20 seconds before the end of the match-up.
Hundreds of comments enthusiastically debate the nature of the kiss—gay, bicurious, straight? No matter the opinion, the mainly commenters on these two gay sites were United in their judgement: who cares, it’s Hot! Cute!
As one commenter pointed out: “Italian men (straight) do this frequently (when they are good friends and relatives). It’s not a big deal. They also walk together arm in arm when they are strolling around and having a conversation and enjoying each others’ company. It’s common to see the men arm in arm and their wives or girlfriends arm in arm behind them and yakety yakking away.”
