Boulder: VIP LOHAS Party thrown for elephant journal at Dave Query’s Bitter Bar at Happy Noodle.

We’re grateful to Rob Thomas of SocialK, one of our first sponsors (see SocialK on left of every page of, and John Rook of The Soap Group, and CSRwire for co-sponsoring this party at Dave Query’s elegant, hip Bitter Bar at Happy Noodle in Boulder, Colorado, during LOHAS—and choosing to dedicate it to elephant’s journey toward sustainability as we continue our transition from our heady print magazine days into an online vehicle that, in its first year, has already won #1 in the US for #green content on twitter and now has 200,000 unique monthly readers.

Growing online is easy—all it takes is a ton of passion and hard work. Achieving sustainability online is hard as hell—almost no one has done it (even the wonderful lost $40 million last year, we’ve heard). Why? Web sites give away their product for free.

Want to support the growth and improvement of independent, mindful media—but can’t make the party?

About elephant journal

elephant journal is dedicated to "bringing together those working (and playing) to create enlightened society." We're about anything that helps us to live a good life that's also good for others, and our planet. >>> Founded as a print magazine in 2002, we went national in 2005 and then (because mainstream magazine distribution is wildly inefficient from an eco-responsible point of view) transitioned online in 2009. >>> elephant's been named to 30 top new media lists, and was voted #1 in the US on twitter's Shorty Awards for #green content...two years running. >>> Get involved: > Subscribe to our free Best of the Week e-newsletter. > Follow us on Twitter Fan us on Facebook. > Write: send article or query. > Advertise. > Pay for what you read, help indie journalism survive and thrive.
