This video, titled (on youtube) “Steven Seagal claims he’s God,” has about a million views. Having heard some questionable things about his “discovery” as a reincarnated Buddhist guru (as in, he paid for the honor), I expected the little video to be bad news.

It wasn’t. I came away feeling like he knew his Dharma, at least on the basic level allowed by a brief news interview:

  1. Steven says:

Looks like a hatchet job by the interviewer. When they actually let him speak, he makes sense. When the interviewer talks, it sounds like, "Oh no! Blasphemous weirdos from the East are among us."

  2. elephantjournal says:

Kate V: um…didn't steven seagal beat his wife?

Rob C: is there a larger douche on the planet?

T'ai J: Too bad he is such a bleep and bleeping bleep yuck

Joe E: Hard to Kill was awesome!

Peggy O: Segal is blatantly mis-quoted.

    Elizabeth B:
It's good to be a Guru. Then all your actions can be justified as being "spiritual." See above.
