“This world is made out of sugar.

It crumbles so easily,

but don’t be afraid to stick your tongue out and taste it.”

Kay is the founder of Project V.O.I.C.E. (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression), a national movement that celebrates and inspires youth self-expression through Spoken Word Poetry. Since 2004, Project V.O.I.C.E. has encouraged young people to use Spoken Word as a vehicle for self-understanding, acceptance, and expression.

Kay’s piece (below) entitled If I Should Have a Daughter offers an inspiring breath of self-reflection and wisdom…

…enjoy!
