Absolute cheek?

The more popular yoga gets, the more we see yoga used in advertising and marketing campaigns. Like for instance, I’m sure everyone has seen the advert for nappies (diapers) with the baby leading the yoga class. I like that one a lot and there’s a sense to it that the advertisers really understand yoga.

Here’s a couple of ads that, to be honest I love but, at the same time, is their political yoga correctness questionable?

It’s pretty obvious who that ad is for. It’s clever but, would probably leave a bad taste in the mouth of some of the more fundamental yogins. And if you’re a vegan, this one advertising swiss milk via swiss-miss will definitely offend the taste buds….

Marketing is not always considerate, that is reality.

Both ads are fun to see.Ya gotta keep a sense of humor here. But the issue of taste is not so much what segment of the Yoga world will be offended. It's the fundamental issue of how the marketers and ad agencies have appropriated an ancient practice to entice Yoga conscious consumers. In the world of advertising—the premier industry of bulls#%!t—no cows are sacred for long. That's cool. Yoga's gonna outlast it all anyway.

Sometimes humour is just humour, without a second meaning or innuendoes. And as such it's so great and funny. That's it, there is nothing more to it. Just have a laugh and take it easy..

Perhaps Absolut was targeting yoga husbands, like mine and this guy: http://www.fuckyoga.com. Not all yogis / yoginis can convert everyone around them, but there is no denying yoga is part of their lives because they are connected to us. An ad like this would definitely catch my hubby's eye.
