Do You Believe in Love?

Love makes our world go ’round.

It’s what we all want. It drives us. It motivates us. It keeps us up at night. If  you’ve ever been in love––or if your heart still hopes to find it––why would you deny someone else that same chance? This isn’t about politics. This isn’t anyone’s agenda. This is about love.

It would be easy for me to say, “I’m straight, not my problem.”  But I get hung up on the injustice of it all. Martin Luther King Jr. wisely said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” He was right. This is serious stuff. If we allow anyone among us to be treated unjustly, it hurts us all.

But the larger truth is, I’m a romantic. I believe in love. I believe in love––for everyone.

Stand up for love. Speak out for love. Vote for love.

It’s time.

It's a beautiful message that hopefully will reframe the issue for some, and encourage others to keep standing up & speaking out until everyone has the right to marry.
