I’m asking today for a small favor. As you may know, tomorrow– December 6th — is Colorado Gives Day, an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. During the 24-hours of December 6th all donations to Colorado non-profits will be matched by an incentive fund provided by Community First Foundation.

New Era Colorado is participating in Colorado Gives Day in order to secure funding for 2012 programs. To date, the amazingly talented staff, board, interns, and volunteers at New Era have accomplished some incredible things:

  • Registered over 30,000 young voters across Colorado and consistently produced the highest turnout rate of almost any voter registration drive in the country
  • Trained 250 young people in an intensive hands-on leadership development program, many of who go on to careers in the public interest
  • Passed numerous pieces of policy at the state and local level, including an online voter registration bill for Colorado voters, as well as the country’s first energy efficiency standards policy for rental units
  • Played an instrumental role in passing 2B & 2C in Boulder—making it the first community to vote to create a municipal electric utility to increase renewable energy.

And that’s just the beginning! New Era’s role in 2012 will be game-changing for Colorado’s political landscape.

I’m humbly asking you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to New Era on Colorado Gives Day (tomorrow). You can give at whatever amount you’d like–anything over $10 qualifies for the match. You can either “schedule a donation” now to be processed tomorrow or you can wait and make the donation on Colorado Gives Day- tomorrow!

Donate online now!

Many thanks for the support!
