Walk the Talk Show brings the thoughtful, informative, in depth approach of hosts like Charlie Rose together with the fun, intelligent, fast-paced humor like Jon Stewart’s. The show features fun, yet fundamentally serious interviews with figures in the worlds of environmentalism, holistic medicine, and responsible entrepreneurship, along with musical guests and other inspirational entertainment.
Guests on the talk show have included “Yoga Mogul” John Friend, Author Alice Walker, Dr. Deepak Chopra and Michael Pollan. Musical guests have included Flogging Molly, Krishna Das, Paper Bird, The Motet and Nawang Khechong. Walk the Talk Show took a hiatus while the affiliated elephant magazine went entirely online for environmental reasons, only taping 20 shows in 2008.
Can we have a good time while being healthy and socially responsible? Why not! This week’s show will feature three veterans of spreading the good word of healthy, sustainable eating—and not just for humans.
Renegade lunch lady Chef Ann Cooper dishes out awareness for children’s health. Cooper, a former executive chef at a number of high end resorts, has dedicated her life to proper nourishment of school children. Featured on the Colbert Report, Cooper considers herself to be an unlikely person to be a media figure.
As former head of marketing at Chipotle, Jim Adams brought affordable organic, healthy, whole foods to the mainstream. Then, he worked on bringing the same to man’s best friend with his dog food company, Redbud’s Raw. Now at Peace Lovin’ Foods, he’s mass marketing a quinoa burger that’s free of virtually all common allergens.
Working alongside Jim Adams keeping our canine friends healthy, Judy Jasek has been a veterinarian for 24 years. Taking a holistic approach, she markets the same food at Redbud’s Raw she feeds to her own furry kids, C-Jay, Wylie, and Oreo. Judy will have some fun with us on the show while we learn about keeping our pets healthy.
On our last show, Frank Berliner taught the audience simple meditation for business and relationships. Laura Ruby talked about easy, cost-effective ways to make backyards more green. Yaw Brand delivered an eco-friendly fashion show, and Boulder band Na’an Stop closed the show with an exuberant reggae performance.

Chef Ann Cooper is a celebrated author, chef, educator, and enduring advocate for better food for all children. In a nation where children are born with shorter estimated life expectancies than their parents because of diet-related illness, Ann is a relentless voice of reform by focusing on the links between food, family, farming and children’s health and wellness. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY, Ann has been a chef for more than 30 years. She has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, and Time Magazine and has appeared on NPR’s ‘Living on Earth,’ ABC’s Nightline, CNN, PBS’ To The Contrary and the CBS Morning Show and many other media outlets.
There is no doubt that Ann is an accomplished chef, however her focus is now on using her skills and background to create a sustainable model for schools nationwide to transition any processed food based K-12 school meal program to a whole foods environment where food is procured regionally and prepared from scratch. In 2009, Ann founded Food Family Farming Foundation (F3) as a nonprofit focusing on solutions to the school food crisis. F3’s pivotal project is The Lunch Box- a web portal that provides free and accessible tools, recipes and community connections to support school food reform. She envisions a time soon when being a chef working to feed children fresh, delicious, and nourishing food will no longer be considered “renegade.”
Jim Adams is the founder of Redbud’s Raw Premium Dog Food, a line of gourmet raw dog food made from USDA-inspected meats and organic vegetables and fruits. He is also a founding partner of QRUNCH Foods, which makes and distributes vegan “QRUNCH” burgers, powered by the superfood quinoa.
Adams has spent nearly 20 years in various marketing roles. He was Executive Director of Marketing for Chipotle Mexican Grill for a number of years where he directed all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts. Adams is also a former member of the fourth estate, working for several years as a broadcast journalist. After college, Adams led tour groups worldwide, a job, he says, that prepared him for everything. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kansas University and a Master of Arts in Journalism & Public Affairs from American University in Washington, DC.
Dr Judy Jasek is a holistic veterinarian currently practicing in Englewood, Colorado at Belleview Animal Clinic. The foundation of her practice includes holistic treatment options and nutritional counseling. Dr Jasek received her formal education at Colorado State University, including a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1984, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1988. Her approach to holistic care is feeding an appropriate diet. In the 24 years of practice, she has experienced many different types of pet food. There is no question in her mind that the best diet for dogs and cats is a balanced, fresh, raw food diet.
She is also the new owner of the all-natural healthy raw dog food line, Redbud’s Raw. Her goal in ownership of Redbud’s is to help promote the benefits of raw feeding and provide a better quality of life for as many pets as possible.
