The Mountain of Self.

“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” ~ Confucius

Life often presents us with obstacles that we must overcome in order to progress further. It doesn’t matter if you lose your job, spouse, house, stricken with illness, or have an annoying habit, they are all mountains and we must conquer them.

The key is not to view them as mountains, but as little stepping stones to a higher self. Everything has a lesson within its subtext; you just have to be willing to receive the gifts that life is giving you, regardless of its packaging.

The power of an open question, of an inwardly focused question, is profound.

Seed: Ask yourself very simple questions: Why do I do this? What is happening here? What can I take away from this experience? Ask as many as possible. As you inquire more, you will find yourself progressing towards the top if this seemingly impossible “mountain.”

And remember, once you are atop a mountain, the perspective you gain on the world below is magnificent and deeply moving.
