Good Karma, Photo: vote for the last 9/11 rescue work dog still alive.

Meet Bretagne. This heroic girl is the last living service dog who was sent to ground zero. (imgur.com)

Create some good 9/11 karma: Vote for the last remaining Rescue Dog.

“Bretagne is up for a Hero Dog of the Year award, you can vote for her by following that link. She and/or her trainer don’t receive any money, but they receive the right to donate $5000 to a charity of their choice…”

Via Reddit, via dog heaven:

“God Bless Denise Corliss who trained Bretagne (pronounced Brittany [in this case]) and Bretagne who is still working helping elementary school children and also went with Denise to help after Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan. And God Bless America!”

“Hey, this is my family’s first dog’s granddaughter. It’s absolutely amazing that she’s still around, I think she’s 16 years old. Ground Zero was her first real assignment, if I remember correctly. That whole line is filled with absolutely amazing dogs, and we just got our third puppy from the same breeder.”

And:

…I commented about the Hero Dog award a minute after you did! The $5000 will go to the Penn Vet Working Dog Center if Bret wins. I foster a German Shepherd through the Penn Vet WDC so we’ve been voting for Bret a ton!
