The Pursuit of Contentment. ~ Taylor Johnston {Poem}

dreamerz

Ah, the blissful disregard for conformity, stability.

The pursuit of happiness through an endless saga of twinkling lights, airport departure halls and rash decisions.

This one’s for the dreamers.

The fearless.

The reckless.

The terrified.

What if I’m not good enough? Never good enough?

What if this loneliness is terminal?

Here’s a drink for rotting insecurity.

For comparison and self-doubt.

For boundless ambition tempered with a gypsy heart.

For trying to have it all, and have it all at once.

Life’s not easy.

But Lord how it’s beautiful.

Good Lord, how we’re all so beautiful.

Citizens of this world we live in.

Drifting from one place and one life to the next.

To find a better day.

Glossier in the past and always waiting for the future.

This one’s for the heart breakers.

The broken hearted.

The ones with hearts left to break and be broken.
