6 Ways to Restore our Positive Energy through Earthing.

Ever had the urge to kick off your shoes and feel the grass beneath your feet?

Have you ever walked barefoot along the beach, feeling unbelievably at peace? Maybe you’ve dug your hands into the dirt or sand and felt a profound connection with nature?

When we enjoy these experiences, we participate in an energetic occurrence called “Earthing” or “Grounding.” This is a process where the human body absorbs the earth’s energy through the skin, typically the soles of the feet.

The energy exchange of earthing has been practiced for thousands of years, among many cultures, and has overwhelming benefits.

The practice of earthing was relatively lost until recent studies began to reveal it’s many benefits. Society throughout the years has put numerous barriers between the earth’s surface and us. Footwear, pavement, urban infrastructure and indoor retail facilities all keep us from connecting with the ground resulting in a disconnection from earth’s energy.

Earthing generates a natural balance in our bodies, increases energy and mood, reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels and restores our sense of connectedness. Improved quality of sleep, decreased joint and muscle pain, reduced inflammation, and enhanced overall wellbeing are all common benefits of the earthing technique.

Our bodies are exposed to more and more electromagnetic waves through our ever-increasing reliance on technology. Cell phones, Wi-Fi, computers, tablets, fitness watches and televisions all transmit these waves, which create an excess of positive electrons and free radicals in our bodies.

The practice of grounding helps neutralize the electromagnetic energy in our body, so that it more closely resembles the energy level of the earth.

Here are six easy ways to increase our energy by connecting with Mother Earth:

1. Get outside.

Yes it’s that simple—just being outside increases our connection to the earth’s energy. Many studies have shown that getting outdoors, even for a few minutes, increases our wellbeing and vitality.

2. Walk barefoot outdoors.

This is the easiest way to enjoy the benefits of earthing, as energy is most easily transferred through the soles of our feet.

3. Go to the beach.

Lying in the sand and walking along the beach is not only relaxing, but it’s a sure-fire way to increase our intake of the earth’s precious energy.

4. Visit a local farm.

Picking our own produce is fun and healthy. It’s also a great way to commune and connect with nature.

5. Meditation.

Visualization is a powerful tool that brings great healing to the mind. Visualize yourself as a tree or mountain connected to the earth, as you become a wellspring of light and energy. Sit and focus on this for five minutes, while keeping your awareness on your breath and mental imagery.

6. Grounding blanket.

A grounding blanket can be used to transmit the magnetic energy from the earth. Sleep on one of these blankets and we’ll be on the way to our best night’s sleep yet!

Now we know several great ways to tap into the pulsing energy of the earth that’s continuously available to us.
