It may happen this morning, over coffee.
Most unexpectedly, as you stand in pajamas,
brushing sleep from your eyes and gazing blurrily at the early rays of sunlight.
Or perhaps later, a simple act like turning the key to unlock your door
or unfurling your yoga mat onto your living room floor to practice
may start the process.
Perhaps you’ve been trudging for awhile
making ends meet, keeping afloat. Or perhaps
you were living blindly, and you hadn’t really noticed you’d been just existing.
Or, most likely, you’ve been hoping for something to happen
a spark, a sign, to guide you;
for you’ve been lost.
And here it is, as simple as this:
the moment where you realize you have everything you need to change.
Within you lies all the purpose, the talent, the skill,
(perhaps buried, perhaps covered in cobwebs, perhaps not yet developed)
to become whatever you want to be.
Whomever you want to be.
Perhaps you don’t know where you are headed.
You are afraid, and a little hesitant (don’t worry, dear heart, we all are).
You only know that that suddenly the cage door has been opened,
and where before you though you were stuck, frozen,
now you are aware of the infinite (oh, extraordinarily endless) possibilities
the Universe has in store for your life.
