Sure, he’s got a lot of haters.

But I think he’s a rock star and I know I’m not the only one. Maybe not as much of a rock star as the Dalai Lama, but then the DL is hard to beat.

He has shored up the economy, preventing a nationwide depression (and yes, more still needs to be done to address poverty), ended the Iraq war, passed healthcare reform (whether you love it or hate it, it’s an accomplishment that has eluded those before him), improved transparency in government, donated his $1.4 million Nobel Prize to nonprofits, legalised same sex marriage, has unveiled what he called the “biggest, most important step we’ve ever taken” to combat climate change just yesterday. These are just a few of his achievements during his presidency.

And through it all has maintained his sense of humour:

“Six years into my presidency some people still say I’m arrogant, aloof, condescending. Some people are so dumb.” 

“Four years ago, I was locked in a brutal primary battle with Hillary Clinton. Four years later, she won’t stop drunk-texting me from Cartagena.”

“Dick Cheney says I’m the worst president of his lifetime. Which is interesting, because I think Dick Cheney is the worst president of my lifetime. What a coincidence.” 

“Now, I know that he’s taken some flak lately but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald. And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?”

“If I had to name my greatest strength, I guess it would be my humility. Greatest weakness, it’s possible that I’m a little too awesome.” 

“These days, I look in the mirror and I have to admit, I’m not the strapping young Muslim socialist that I used to be.”
