Adele’s Humorous “Hello” with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots.

I was full up on food, shopping and stress when I clicked the trending video in my Facebook newsfeed.

It’s not what I expected—it’s better.

Fallon is my favorite impersonator. I legitimately love his voice—but he’s quiet (mostly) here. Instead, he is jamming with and “orchestrating” The Roots, who are super serious with low-tech instruments, as Adele belts out “Hello” with all the power you’d expect.

There’s a plastic banana shaker, Fallon’s “stick-on-wood” percussion and my favorite—a brightly colored xylophone, as well as other basic classroom instruments.

I knew Adele’s voice was other-worldly, but I didn’t expect to like her performance here more than the one she’s professionally released! Watching her sing “Hello,” with her toy phone prop is as great as watching her and Fallon trying not to crack up.

This is exactly the sweet serving of humor, talent and subtly I needed.
