Make Love Great Again. Get the cap and wear it, enjoin respectful discussions with our fellow citizens now more than ever.

This is not okay. But remember this is just one of 1,000 issues, most hidden, that are rolling over functioning democracy right now, and will have lasting effects for years. Help your community get registered to vote. Vote. Vote. Vote. Don’t vote out of extremism or hate. Vote out of solidarity and love. Moderate is the new black—most moderates are horrified by what President Trump is doing to our America. Extremism is too often aggression—let’s come together to share and listen with one another.  ~ ed.

Each act, each occasion, is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one great shocking occasion, thinking that others, when such a shock comes, will join with you in resisting somehow.

But the one great shocking occasion, when tens or hundreds or thousands will join with you, never comes. That’s the difficulty. If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked — if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in ’43 had come immediately after the ‘German Firm’ stickers on the windows of non-Jewish shops in ’33. But of course this isn’t the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D.

And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you… [I]n my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying ‘Jewish swine,’ collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose.

Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way.

A redditor: “Honestly this whole situation wasn’t real to me until I heard this audio. Obviously I disagreed with the policy vehemently as I do with most of the policies of this administration but it didn’t really click for me until I heard this.

This is genuinely soul crushing. I don’t get emotional about much but it was excruciatingly hard for me to listen to. These are little children that are absolutely terrified and inconsolable over this. I don’t know how someone can hear this and be anything but furious and heartbroken over how these people are being treated.

If we become ok with things like this or brush this off I don’t know where we as a nation end up. But it’s certainly not anywhere good. There are real issues with illegal immigration and I know we can’t just let anyone and everyone in, I acknowledge that, but this is not how we handle it. This is one of the most disgusting routes we could have taken.”

But, still, to too many this is just political football. Just a game:
