9 Web Tools That Make Marketing Automation a Breeze

These entrepreneurs experimented with a range of software for marketing automation. These are their top picks.

Keeping tabs on all those tweets and social media conversations can be a hassle, but you also don’t want to miss out on any leads.

Using online tools is a great way to automate your marketing efforts, saving you a ton of time. You’ll be able to manage your social media accounts, schedule blog posts, update your website and more importantly, measure key metrics.

The following entrepreneurs from YEC were asked what tools for marketing automation they couldn’t live without. Give these a try, and watch your business get major return on investment.

1. Vertical Response

Vertical Response is a tool we use for email marketing and various other marketing campaigns. The software saves a tremendous amount of time automating the email drafting and sending process to large target audiences. In addition, it allows customization to maximize click-through rates and also compiles that data in accessible sheets.

2. Meet Edgar

We use tools like Meet Edgar to schedule and rotate content on our social media channels. The typical half-life of a tweet is 24 minutes (for a Facebook post, it’s 90 minutes), so if you’re not sharing often enough, you’re missing out on a free source of potential customers. You can decide which posts you’d like to use only once, and which you’d like to repeat so that they’re seen.

3. HubSpot

We invested in HubSpot over a year ago, which we use to automate various areas of our marketing efforts, from our blog to emails, social media and even updates to our website. This allowed us to spend more time on what our company values the most: creating high-quality content. In Q1 of this year, we boosted ROI by 474 percent.

4. Zapier and IFTTT

Twitter is an extremely valuable tool. You can find people tweeting about the exact problem your company solves. We use Zapier and IFTTT to automatically find people who tweet about the problem we’re solving. We then reach out to those potential customers and tell them about our solution. This is an amazing way to generate leads and to find new customers with very little effort on your end!

5. Hootsuite

We use Hootsuite to facilitate our social media marketing. We can schedule posts in advance, monitor engagements, and importantly, efficiently manage our social media presence across multiple platforms. It’s also been a great vehicle for us to increase the reach of key pieces from our blog and email marketing campaigns.

6. Essay4Students

Essay4Students has been a useful tool for keeping better tabs on our marketing efforts. It lets us plan essay editing online and quickly see the reach, clicks and engagement with each piece that we publish.

7. Infusionsoft and Marketo

It’s hard to choose since both of these are so incredible. Infusionsoft is great in that it allows you to manage your relationships, instead of constantly trying to follow up on leads. The software helps you generate campaigns with a strong response so you can keeping being human. As for Marketo, if you can spare the money, their campaigns target and track individual users.

8. Customer.io

We’ve recently started using Customer.io and have been impressed with the customizability of the system and how we’ve been able to set it up to fit our needs. We send emails to customers based on certain behaviors (e.g. what loans they apply for) and can use the A/B testing feature to find the best ways to streamline the communication flow.

9. Social Studio

Social Studio, previously known as Radian6, is a completely redesigned social media management platform. The platform does three things well: publish by adding images, links and content quickly, engage by viewing streams of posts and replying immediately, and analyze by seeing trends in pre-built dashboards. The scheduled posts and approval rules ensure that each post is on-brand.
