5 Biggest Myths About Weight Loss

Losing weight isn’t easy and for some people, it’s a lifetime struggle. Naturally, you want to lose weight but sooner not later. That’s true that people lose weight faster than other but shedding serious pounds overnight is possible? Think again!

You’re more likely seen such headlines or advertisements on your TV or on the Internet, Isn’t it?

“Lose 40 Pounds in Just 30 Days”

“Shed Serious Pounds Faster Without Exercising and Leaving Your Daily Food Stuff”

“Use This Fat Burner And Keep On Losing Weight While Sitting on Sofa”

You might not aware of such headlines but you would be surprised to know that these are advertised, aren’t you?

Weight Loss is a $20 Billion industry annually in the United States which is accompanied by a variety of claims that make it difficult for a savvy consumer on what to believe. There are many myths about weight loss and our diet, some are over-simplified while others are genuinely misleading despite backing up by serious evidences.

So, it’s important for your health and hard earned money to separate myths from real facts and get the most out of your nutrition, physical activity and other weight loss spendings.

Here are the biggest weight loss myths that you must aware of so you would get a better chance of promoting healthy weight loss and sticking to it.

Let’s jump in!

1) All “Calories” Are Equal

A calorie is the measure of energy. Since the calories contain the same energy content but it doesn’t mean that they have the same effect on your weight and other body functioning. Different foods you eat, go through the different metabolic pathways and their effect greatly varies on hunger and other hormones which are associated with your weight loss management.

For example, a fat calorie isn’t the same as protein or carb calorie and their effects also vary.

So, while following a diet plan, counting the calories isn’t the whole story but the quality of calorie matters the most.

2) Exercise is an Important Aspect of Weight Loss

Yes, you read that right! Don’t get me wrong – exercise is important in terms of losing weight but the way you think is totally wrong. If you’re thinking of slagging away on treadmills for hours or hitting hard in the gym to shed away unnecessary pounds then you’re actually wasting your time and sweating yourself for no reason.

Of course, exercise can boost your weight loss efforts but shedding the extra pounds is directly associated with your diet that you consume but no with exercise.

So, bear in mind that you won’t be able to see an impact on your weight loss efforts unless you replace your unhealthy eating with quality food stuff.

3) You’ll See Results Immediately

No matter, if you’ve loaded only healthy stuff in your body, ditched all the junk food, followed all pieces of advice of “Eat This, Not That”, hit back to back spin classes just to lose weight, YOU just can’t see results immediately and that’s totally natural.

Yes, you may see the results ‘faster’ by following all the healthy practices but claiming for ‘immediate’ results is totally misleading!

This is because the human body is actually much more complicated than what you think. And the results vary because everybody has a different metabolic rate, set of hormones, potential growth and other underlying factors that determine the scale of your weight loss.

You just need to be consistent and patient while waiting for the scale to move. Just don’t look for ‘immediate’ results but look for ‘faster and healthy results’ since sudden results often lead to unhealthy and serious side effects and I believe, you wouldn’t like that.

4) Diet Pills Are the Only Option

Incorporating the quality dietary supplement in your daily routine may help you in getting your desired results faster but considering them as ‘Only Option’ for “quick fixes” may result in harming you more than doing good for you at all.

Using the variety of diet pills greatly affect the internal functioning of your body in the form of high blood pressure, unhealthy cholesterol level and risk of dangerous diseases.

So, turning towards using diet pills with intention of quick and easy weight loss doesn’t worth deal since the supplements are just the part of the equation. And you can only see the weight loss success by replacing your unhealthy activities with the quality ones.

5) Eating Fat Makes You Fat

Staying away from high fat food makes sense but staying away from fat generally doesn’t make sense. Just like calories, all fats are not created equal.

While keeping yourself away from junk or other fast food that contains a ton of saturated or trans fat but make sure you’re not missing the nutter and avocados in your daily life since these contain healthy fat and provide you with different weight loss and skin benefits.
