They are all international stars. Their background may be different, and they have more in common than just getting us starstruck looking at them in gossip magazines: They have chosen a free or low sugar lifestyle. With all the money able to provide them the best care in the world, from slimming packs to personal trainers and detox sessions in 5 star-resorts, the following celebrities have realized it might not be enough to stay healthy. They’ve done their research, they looked at the proof and they quit sugar!
- John Goodman
Could you ever imagine a slim Fred Flintstone? Neither could we! So just imagine the iconic role John Goodman played with a 6-pack. Yes, this might be exaggerating, but it doesn’t mean the world-renowned actor should have played Fred’s role in real life forever.
What has the sugar free get for him? More than 45 kilograms taken away! The transformation is amazing! The cause was, as Goodman says it himself: “I just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself. You’re shaving in the mirror and you don’t want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous” and the result is a healthy, loved man, which will be able to keep on making us happy every time our screens welcome him into our homes!
- Kate Hudson
Most of the time, those who decide to make a radical change in their lifestyle, from a dietary point of view do this because of health problems or bad eating habits. However, for the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star, this wasn’t the case. I mean, only looking at her and that fabulous gene pool inherited from her amazing mom, Goldie Hawn is making us jealous.
But, as Kate herself put it, she was becoming a sugar addict: “That was an eye-opener for me, I realized I was craving it like an addict around 4 pm every day. I would crave something sweet and it hit me how much sugar we really eat.”
And let’s face it, Kate knows her fair share of healthy living. Giving up sugar while staying on her high-alkaline diet is only the cherry on top. And we keep wondering how does she rock that body at 37!
- Tom Hanks
There is no introduction to this guy. Unless you live in a cave. But, since you’re reading this, you don’t! The magnificent actor decided to quit sugar after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Lucky for him, his will power and the support of the loved ones have made this journey easy. And yes, even if life is a box of chocolates, you don’t have to dig in it all at once.
Of great support has been his friend, Alec Baldwin, also an adept of the sugar-free diet, which has managed to lose around 14 kilograms after listening to the advice of his wife, Hilaria, a fitness expert.
- Gwyneth Paltrow
Yes, she is famous. Yes, she is pretty and yes, she is healthy! And all thanks to the choices she has made during her life. A hectic schedule, international traveling topped with jet lag and the need to eat a donut next to her morning coffee fix have taken its toll on Gwyneth Paltrow.
However, these minor details were not going to stand between her and the joy to live each day at its fullest. After launching GOOP from her kitchen with a desire to share experiences and give the freedom of choice by keeping her readers informed, in 2010, Paltrow wrote an article about the effects of sugar and the benefits of getting rid of it. You can read it here, but make sure to do so after finishing this article because we know you’ll be swept away by her site!
- Adele
Who more to speak about body confidence and lack of restraints than our wonderful Adele. And yes, she is ours, all of us. We love her like a family member and she is present in our homes more often than our cousins.
This doesn’t mean the star wanted to keep her bad eating habit out of control. As a young mother, the desire to be a role model for her boy goes beyond money, fame, and celebrity. Choices have to be made and not putting 20 teaspoons of sugar in her daily cup of tea was one of them. You have seen the difference. She is beautiful either way, but the road to health she has chosen to walk upon is even brighter than her career!
