We raise our young boys; the best that we can,
before you know it; they are fleeing the nest and becoming a young man.
We wish for the next milestone, that they will grow very fast, but hold tight to your tongue,
before you know it, they talk, crawl, walk, and then run.
One day we build sand castles, wipe boo boos as they crawl in our laps,
before you know it, they ask for the car keys, then it’s on to girls, gowns and caps.
Embrace each step, each word, each milestone made,
before you know it, they leave, fall in love and create new memories that you can never, trade.
Your once sweet,baby boy, is now a man with dreams of his own;
before you know it; don’t blink Mom, oh look, he’s all grown.
